The deal will not become official until the National Football League new year begins on March 14.

The Eagles acquisition of veteran pass rusher Michael Bennett Wednesday, in exchange for wide receiver Marcus Johnson and a fifth-round draft pick, continue a winning strategy adopted last season by Vice President of football operations Howie Roseman.

Bennett is a three-time Pro Bowler and has accumulated 54.0 sacks in 125 games and 90 career starts.

Sherman, who's spent his first seven NFL seasons in Seattle, will hold talks with he Seahawks over his unsettled future from Las Vegas, where the NFL Player's Association will hold their annual meeting Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It was a insane year for Kendricks, who had asked to be traded or released in January, then played a major role in the team's Super Bowl march.

He could in the mix to replace WR Paul Richardson, an unrestricted free agent who may not re-sign with Seattle.

"I'll be fine", Bennett said after the loss to Arizona.

The Philadelphia Eagles insane offseason has officially begun. So if I'm not here, I would never have any hard feelings toward the organization. You love the players that you played with.

Seattle could be moving on from another defensive star. Cutting Curry prior to June 1 would give the Eagles $5 million in cap relief next season, but they'd still have $6 million in dead cap.

Bennett first signed with the Seahawks in 2009, after going undrafted. He was inactive for most of the second half the season because he didn't figure into special teams.

With Bennett becoming more vocal over the years one might think of that as a problem, but if things escalate in the wrong direction, Philly could always trade him or cut him.

Some would say the Eagles got a steal from a desperate team. Whether it had an impact or not, I don't know.
