Most kids probably spent their Saturday night asking to play video games and asking their parents to buy them Happy Meals, whereas Blue Ivy didn't even ask when she bid $19,000 on a piece of art.

The art auction, held at the 2018 Wearable Art Gala, was organized by the "Formation" singer's mother, Tina Knowles Larson and her husband, Richard Lawson.

The gala honored Beyoncé for her humanitarian work, and she gave an emotional speech as she accepted the award.

Wearing a gorgeous matching gold dress with her mum Beyoncé, 36, Blue Ivy was out to prove expensive taste runs in the family by placing two bids on an acrylic painting by acclaimed artist Sidney Poitier. JAY-Z jokingly tried to wrestle it away from her when the bid rose to $17,000.

"Let me tell you what's happening".

Blue raised her bid from $17,000 to $19,000 while mom and dad proudly looked on. In a nod to the biggest movie of the year, the evening's theme was "From WACO to Wakanda" with everyone's outfits reflecting the ever growing influence Black Panther.

Blue Ivy Carter might be the world's youngest fine art collector. I never thought people should receive awards like this because in my opinion, the giving is the reward and that's enough. "I feel so blessed and fortunate..."

While it's unclear if she was the victor, it sure does look like Blue had a lot of fun bidding.

She continued, "It has been a joy to work with you on issues we care about and witness your outstanding work first hand". "Thank you for loving me and Daddy". "I love you", she said. "Listen, you know, Ms. Tina [Knowles] told me all of this", the host said.
