Drabu has deliberately made the statement to prove his credentials to quarters that matter to him.

The PDP leaders also criticised Drabu and asked him to explain his statement.

A top BJP leader praised Mr Drabu's role in coordination between the two parties and said he was often the bridge between the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Centre over a host of issues.

The PDP's chief spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir warned of action against Drabu if he did not retract his statement. "It is in this we seek your help", he had said. "By their negative approach, the people like Haseeb Drabu want to change the historical facts about the Kashmir dispute but they must keep in mind that they can not deceive and cheat the world", DFP said.

Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Monday paid tributes to slain militants including Eesa Fazli of Soura Srinagar, Syed Owais Shah of Kokernag and their companion who were killed in Hakoora Anantnag gunfight. "He (Drabu) is a classic example of a person trying to act like a lawyer in politics who has no ideology, faith and ethics but is always ready to present his clients' wishes and whims", said Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.

National conference working president and former chief minister Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah reacted to the ouster of Finance Minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu from the cabinet by saying that sacking the architect of the BJP-PDP alliance will not redeem the PDP for the sins.

Meanwhile, official handle of PDP on twitter reacted on the statement and said, " Party recognizes J&K as a political issue & ever since its emergence has relentlessly been pursuing its resolution through reconciliation & dialogue. The party maintains that the Kashmir issue is a political issue and its resolution formed the party's core agenda. The chief minister is arriving from New Delhi late Monday morning.

"Yes, he has been removed from the cabinet". The party not only distanced itself from his statement but also released text of his speech and sent him a show cause notice before taking the final decision.

"Your statement has the potential to create a serious dent in the image and credibility of the party".

Sagar further alleged that Drabu is being used by the BJP, the ruling alliance partner of PDP.
