McDormand, 60, scored the award on Sunday for her role as Mildred Hayes in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri".

The actor was essentially a shoo-in to win the Best Actor award after picking up trophies at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Screen Actors Guild Awards in the past few months. But before cinephiles find out if Oldman has secured the acting honor, here's what you need to know about his better half. The basketball superstar asserted what happened between him and the 19-year-old was consensual.

It was revealed in November that the two said their vows in August 2017. She then brought her Oscar to In-N-Out Burger for a celebratory munch.

Gary Oldman is pictured with his wife Gisele Schmidt during the The 33rd Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 2, 2018 in Santa Barbara, California.

Authorities say the Oscar was allegedly stolen during the Governors Ball after party.

The beloved performer won her second overall Academy Award for Best Actress Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, taking the prestigious achievement during the 90th Oscars ceremony over fellow contenders Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird), Margot Robbie (I, Tonya), and Meryl Streep (The Post).

"Shape of Water" appears to have the upper hand, having already collected the usually prophetic Producers Guild of America Award, although the victor of that honor the past two years has failed to win the top Oscar.

"I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did", he said in a court statement.

After countless brilliant performances and a career spanning four decades, Gary Oldman went home with his first ever Oscar. He isn't the only Oscar victor this year with an allegedly violent past. Her name was reportedly engraved on the award. Like the actor, Schmidt has also been previously married.

"The greatest thing art does, our industry does, is to erase the lines in the sand - we should continue doing that - when the world tells us to make them deeper", Del Toro said in accepting the award.

"The changes we are witnessing are being driven by the powerful sound of new voices, of different voices, of our voices, joining together in a mighty chorus that is finally saying 'Time's Up", Judd said. "I wasn't Mr. Right'". But I think he will win anyway. Although Fiorentino hadn't come forward publicly about the alleged abuse until recently, it's described in the paperwork filed for their divorce almost two decades ago.

McDormand has won two Oscars from five total nominations.
