While Diaz is now pursing the quiet life-the actor hasn't updated her Instagram in well over a year-you can find her on her husband's account.

"Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview", she explained. "CAMERON DIAZ is NOT retiring from ANYTHING", Blair tweeted Monday afternoon. The pair starred together in the 2002 romantic comedy The Sweetest Thing, and Blair referred to that movie while talking about what Diaz is up to these days.

"I had lunch with Cameron the other day", Blair told Daily Star.

But according to her close friend, Selma Blair (who may have accidentally spilled the beans), she believes it's time to hang up her acting boots as she's officially "done" with the industry.

Diaz's last role was as Miss Hannigan in the 2014 remake of "Annie" with Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx.

So how about that sequel now? "She's like, 'I'm done'".

When she lent her voice to Fiona, the human princess trapped in a dragon-guarded castle and cursed with becoming an ogre after nightfall, Diaz became the treasure of one of the most celebrated animated franchises of the 21st century.

The star has made a number of hugely successful films, including There's Something About Mary, The Mask, The Holiday and the Shrek films.

Its follow-up, The Longevity Book, followed in 2016. She is choosing instead to focus on her life with husband and musician Benji Madden.

Though Cameron has not officially announced her retirement, she did hint about stepping away from the movie industry to work on herself at the Goop Wellness Summit a year ago. So it's no secret she's certainly taking a break but we assume she's enjoying married life, having said "I do" to Benji Madden in 2015. A source speaking to Us Weekly, hinted that Cameron was purportedly ditching Hollywood because she wanted to have a child.
