The Asus ZenFone 5Z sits at the very top of the product line, offering high-end specs (mostly) worthy of a true flagship device. ASUS claims that the Zenfone 5Z with its notch design achieves a screen-to-body-ratio of 90 per cent, which is impressive, considering the iPhone X's 82.9 per cent ratio. Asus will also be introducing what it calls "ZeniMoji" on the two phones which are live-animated avatars similar to Animoji on the iPhone X and the AR Emoji on the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S9.

The device sports a dual camera setup on the back, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while thin bezels are also a part of the package.

Asus will ship the ZenFone 5 Lite in March, then release the ZenFone 5 and 5Z in April and June, respectively. The smartphone - ZenFone Max (M1) will either be powered by Snapdragon 430 or Snapdragon 425 chipset.

The unusual aspect ratio and the wraparound "wings" of the display make the phone look striking for all the same reasons as the iPhone X. There's a 6.2-inch 2,246-by-1,080 IPS display that can hit a solid 500 nits of brightness. Moreover, they will also ship running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. All devices offer an "all-screen" 18:9 display along with AI-enabled features. The display has a rather unorthodox aspect ratio of 19:9 which is a minor issue for content consumption.
