Davis, who left Tuesday's game briefly with a rib injury, is averaging over 28 points and 11 rebounds per game in 2017-18. Davis winced and grabbed at his ankle before slowly getting to his feet. This comes after New Orleans lost All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins for the season to a ruptured Achilles back in January.

The red-hot Pelicans visit Sacramento Wednesday night and all eyes will be on MVP-candidate Davis and his ribs as the team tries to knock off the bottom-feeding Kings, who have been big problems for the Pels.

"He's willing to sacrifice his body to make a play", said head coach Alvin Gentry afterwards. Jrue Holiday also was instrumental in this Pelicans win, adding a 19 point 17 assist night to the victory.

"It was sore", Davis said in a postgame interview on TNT. From what I hear, he plans on it. "We went out there and thought it was going to be an easy game". Nikola Mirotic continued his outstanding play, scoring 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting and adding 10 rebounds for his first double-double since February 12. Last night's win places the Pelicans a half-game in front of the San Antonio Spurs. New Orleans led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter, the largest lead of the contest.

The Pelicans are playing like a team destined to be a Cinderella story in the National Basketball Association. He left early in the first quarter due to lower back stiffness.

"March is a monster for us", Rivers said. He finished 17-of-31 from the field and 3-of-3 from the line to go with 13 rebounds, two assists, three steals, three blocks and four triples in 37 minutes.

However, Davis has been a machine since the injury.

Clippers: In his 13th season, Williams is averaging career highs in points (23.2), assists (5.4), 3-point percentage (.369) and free-throw percentage. The Pelicans shot 56.6 percent for the game, dropping the Kings to 8-25 when their opponent shoots 50 percent or better. "Now it seems that I did get my rhythm".

Tonight the New Orleans Pelicans will play the Kings.

The Pelicans are 10-5 since Cousins went down and go into Wednesday's tilt holding sole possession of the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference standings. "We knew this was going to be a tough road trip".

They started their latest must-win game in halting fashion, missing shots and mishandling the ball. "We've done a good job with that".

New Orleans hasn't released a timetable for his return.
