The book chronicles the life of the Pence family pet, now a celebrity who has been to White House events, flown on Air Force 2 and even has a popular Instagram account.

The "Last Week Tonight" host shared the news about his book's good fortune during an appearance on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Tuesday.

The twist in this version, written by Jill Twiss is that the Pence family pet is actually gay. This recording features the voices of Jim Parsons as Marlon Bundo, along with guests Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jeff Garlin, Ellie Kemper, John Lithgow, Jack McBrayer, and RuPaul.

John Oliver's gay bunny book has found an audience.

The rabbit, Marlon Bundo, is the subject of both the Pences' and Oliver's book. While Oliver's version is giving their money to The Trevor Project. Charlotte penned the poetry in the book, while Mrs. Pence drew the illustrations.

Proceeds of Mr Pence's book will be donated to art therapy programme Tracy's Kids and A21, a non-profit organisation fighting human trafficking. (She is not the poet and educator Charlotte Pence, by the way.) She has described herself as "more of a moderate or an independent", in contrast to her conservative father and President Trump. But, one thing I love about him is his rabbit, he has a fantastic rabbit. The book, which is out Monday, "gives young readers a bunny's-eye view of the special duties of the vice president", per its publisher. During the segment, Oliver called Pence out for his anti-abortion stance and "hostility to LGBT rights".

On the show, aired on Sunday night, Oliver said: "There are a few small differences between the two books". "This isn't some adult book telling Mike Pence to go f-- himself". Oliver's book, advertised on the website BetterBundoBook, has totally sold out, necessitating the need for second printing.

A representative for HBO didn't immediately respond to INSIDER's request for comment.
