Tottenham vs. Arsenal: Change Looms Over the North London Derby

The Gunners are likely to have Nacho Monreal available for the North London Derby. We had a few problems with Cech and he has not practised.

"When Arsenal are really at it - as they were at home against Everton last week - they can embarrass teams", he added.

Tottenham are now fifth, four points above Arsenal in sixth and are unbeaten in three league meetings at home against the Gunners since Pochettino became manager in 2014.

The England worldwide notched his 100th Premier League goal, last Sunday, when he netted a last minute penalty during Spurs' frantic 2-2 draw with Liverpool, at Anfield.

Wenger won a Premier League title at White Hart Lane, but may not mourn its demise.

Arsenal pulled one back through striker Emmanuel Adebayor but Tottenham were not done, as midfielder Steed Malbranque tapped in from close range late on in the game.

In his absence, the Gunners were in terrifying form, with Mkhitaryan helping himself to three assists, including the pass for Aubameyang's debut goal, while Aaron Ramsey hit the first Premier League hat-trick of his career.

Under George Graham, Arsenal were heading toward their second First Division title in three seasons, and had sights set on the double. It is little wonder Wenger said he would prefer to play at the national stadium.

When Wenger was asked during his pre-match press conference on Thursday if there was a better striker in Europe than Kane right now, he answered: "If you look at the numbers, no".

On Arsenal's mentality going into the big derby, Wenger said: "You have to find a good balance between rational and emotional".

Terry Venables' men went on to lift the trophy back at Wembley in the FA Cup final against Nottingham Forest, which saw Gascoigne taken off on a stretcher with a serious knee injury. He more or less rejected the idea that this was a "must not lose" game, saying that they wanted to win it, and with a six-point gap to the Champions League places you can understand why.

So impressive is Aubameyang's record, it's actually better than a number of Arsenal legends including Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie.

"There seems to be a lack of focus at the start of games and Arsenal have been sloppy". And this may mean that both clubs end up with different managers the next time the North London derby comes around.
