The Pakistan Super League launches its third edition in Dubai on Thursday, adding a sixth team, more global stars and with hopes that the Twenty20 tournament can be staged entirely on home soil from 2019. A total of 4 venues will be hosting all these matches including Dubai, Sharjah, Lahore and Karachi.

Responding over a question, Raja said that batting is the weak link in Pakistani national team, and he wants to see new talented batsman entering in the national squad via PSL.

Pakistan has staged its global fixtures in the United Arab Emirates in recent years as it grapples with militant violence.

PSL 2018 begins with Darren Sammy's team taking on Shoaib Malik-led Multan Sultans. The newly included franchise of Multan Sultans was introduced in the onset followed by Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and reigning champions Peshawar Zalmi. Two more Bangladesh players Mahmudullah Riyad and Mustafiur Rahman will feature for Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalanders respectively.
