We went behind the scenes of Puppy Bowl XIV, and it was even cuter than you might've imagined.

But Animal Planet has already posted the special that will air before Sunday's battle royale, and it's streaming on their site for free, along with a few other related featurettes.

Johnson said the Puppy Bowl gives shelters and rescue groups the chance to show they also have the types of dogs people often pay to get from breeders. For the seventh year in a row, America's favorite "Rufferee", Dan Schachner, returned to call the puppy penalties, furry fumbles and terrier touchdowns.

Meep the Bird, a rescue African Gray Parrot, will be live tweeting updates and highlights during the game - with the help from a human of course.

The fun begins at 2 PM ET with a pregame show that provides the audience a behind-the-scenes peek at the puppies' pre-Bowl rituals.

Puppy Bowl starter Morris. This year the little puppies have been brought in from 48 different animal shelters and organizations from all across the United States, including areas hit by natural disasters like Florida, Houston, and Puerto Rico.

Viewers themselves can adopt the very puppies they see on television by logging into the official Animal Planet website to contact their respective shelters.

The Austin Humane Society's 11th Annual Puppy Bowl, a football-themed puppy party, is happening from 12 p.m.to 3 p.m. "We want the love and the thoughtfulness towards these pets that need our help to extend all year long".
