The news is meeting a crowd of Reddit skeptics that don't seem to believe the game will be updated after it's launch on Switch. It was more than enough information for the fans to realize that Switch is getting the outdated version. One bit of evidence to support that theory is that despite the Nintendo Switch's strong sales in 2017, that console didn't take significant numbers of gamers from Microsoft or Sony. So Switch is one update behind other consoles, which are slightly behind PC. And, a single update on console equals several months of updates on PC, according to Christian Post. They are not one to repeat the same mistakes, though, as they handle the Switch version with a little more care this time.

The Nintendo Switch console did great on the market last year, and it looks like things aren't going to slow down this year, as the console is the best selling one in the U.S. for the past month. Hardware spendings were mainly driven by PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

"PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One all performed well in the month of January", said NPD analyst Piscatella.

Also, Starbreeze refrained from talking more about the updates or even failed to give a timeline for updates, leaving everyone hopeful that they would come up with more details as the game releases. The game represents Microsoft's cross-platform version of "Minecraft", and the development team dedicated almost two hours of Twitch live stream time to showcase every inch of it.

Payday 2 is out February 23 on Nintendo Switch in Europe, followed by North America on February 27. The title offers a total of 50 heists, 17 playable characters, 190 weapons and 280 masks.
