Kate Upton accuses Paul Marciano of sexual harassment

On February 7, 2018, the Board of Directors formed a Special Committee comprised of two independent directors to oversee an ongoing investigation into recent allegations of improper conduct by Paul Marciano.

"He shouldn't be allowed to use his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women #metoo", she captioned the Instagram post.

Marciano has vehemently denied Upton's allegations, telling Time that Upton's accusations are "absolutely false" and "preposterous". Upton's claims were also backed up by photographer Yu Tsai, who said he was witness to the sexual harassment Upton had faced and described to the magazine.

News of the investigation came shortly after former Playmate Kristina Shannon accused Marciano of sexual assault, claiming he dropped Kate Upton's name in an effort to allegedly coerce her into sexual acts.

"After I pushed him away, he said, 'I'm making sure they're real, ' " she said in an interview with Time. Quoting Marciano, Roberts said, "I fully support the Me Too movement".

All of this sounds reminiscent of the behavior of disgraced mogul Harvey Weinstein, i.e. the forceful invitations to spend time alone, the mention of other successful women he'd supposedly slept with. "I have pledged to Guess and its board of directors my full support and cooperation with a fair and impartial investigation".

The alleged incident with Marciano changed her perception of the modeling world, Upton said, and caused her to question herself.

She added: "He started feeling them - playing with them actually". In it Vee said, "It is time people like @paulmarciano & @mohamedhadid get exposed for who they really are!" Upton previously told Time magazine that Tsai was sacked "in what seemed to be retaliation" for his acting as a buffer for her. He did, but that did not stop Paul's constant grabbing. "I was extremely shaken, surprised and scared". She made an agreement with the photographer not to be left alone in a room with Marciano and then the photographer was sacked.

She said: "Now that I'm talking about this, I'm getting so emotional". She claims this happened on more than one occasion and recalls one instance in which she turned down Marciano's request to come to her hotel and woke up the following day to news she was sacked because he said she had "gotten fat". Since Upton was already terrified, she made a decision to turn off her phone, lock her door and try to sleep. "I was terrified. All I could think was if he was able to get into my room it would not be good".

The fashion retailer had then said it would investigate Upton's claims "once they are known to determine if they have any merit".

Next day, someone from Guess called her agency and explained Kate was sacked because she got fat, and that she was not needed on set anymore.
