Jessica Jones, following in Daredevil's footsteps, helped prove that this darker, more grounded and adult take on the MCU could work.

At long last, it's nearly time for a return to Jessica Jones' corner of Hell's Kitchen.

The popular Marvel original series "Jessica Jones" returns for a second season on International Women's Day, March 8 on Netflix. The trailer intriguingly ends with someone clapping while Jessica wonders what happened to her in the past.

I hope your black leather jacket is on hand, because the first look at season two of Jessica Jones is here. Nevertheless, given that there are other parts of Jessica's past that clearly shaped her - the experiments done on her, and her family's death being the main focus in the trailer - he could just at least be there for a discernibly shorter period of time.

Alongside the cool trailer, the streaming giant treats fans to a new poster of the sophomore season of the Marvel series. As with season 1, Jessica's past will come back to haunt her; more disturbing memories that she's buried deep and is now trying to unravel and understand. Her past is still full of surprises as her friend Trish tells her that knowing what was done to her might be helpful.

She also punches and swears and drinks a lot. Jessica will be dealing with the traumatic fallout of the events of the first season and her fight with her nemesis, the Purple Man. The bigger question is if there are more superhumans around, will they be on Jessica's side, or are they new enemies for her to face?

Jessica Jones: Season 2 also stars David Tennant, Ashlie Atkinson, Eka Darville, Jenny Paul, Narada Campbell, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Cece King.
