Canadian guard Jamal Murray led the way with 36 points and 11 rebounds, and he returns as part of an impressive-looking Team World headlined by the Philadelphia 76ers' trio of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Dario Saric. Rookie forward Kyle Kuzma scored 20 points in 18 minutes, 52 seconds off the bench and second-year forward Brandon Ingram eight points in 12:07 in Team USA's 155-124 loss to Team World at Staples Center.

Hield scored 29 points with five 3-pointers, and his Sacramento Kings teammate won the MVP award with 26 points and seven 3-pointers in the World team's 155-124 victory over the United States team in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night.

Among the 100 or so assembled All-Star Game media, none were from Serbia.

The Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to have a competitor in the dunk contest, but they traded Larry Nance Jr.to the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 8. But even in the backcourt, Simmons is a enormous point guard who can wreak havoc on the game with his sheer length and athleticism.

The game marked the Lakers only representation during All-Star Weekend.

A pair of Sacramento Kings led the way for the World, which has now won three of four Rising Stars Challenges since the exhibition shifted to an global format back in 2015.

As for Team USA, they will be led by breakout rookie star Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz, as well as the Boston Celtics wing duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

Team World made 23 3-point baskets to 11 for Team USA.

Still, it's disappointing to think the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks won't be participants in the Rising Stars Challenge, especially with the latter showing signs of All-Star potential in his rookie campaign. The Kings have two teammates on the world team with Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Justin Bieber tried to bring the handles as the point guard for Team Lakers, but struggled to bring much else.

Retired NBA star Paul Pierce scored four points for Team Clippers.
