Both Haasan and Rajinikanth, who command a huge fan following, have announced they will enter politics. "Only time will tell" about a possible alliance with Rajini's party, he said after the meeting on Sunday (February 18) that triggered a lot of speculations in the political circles.

Abdul Kalam's house Actor Kamal Haasan will begin his political journey in earnest on February 21, with public meetings in Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Manamadurai and Madurai city. I informed Rajini when I took the decision of taking a plunge into politics. He said he is embarking on an important journey of his life and before that he would like to meet the people he likes.

Meanwhile, Rajnikanth expressed his wishes to Hassan during the meeting on Sunday. "Meeting him is part of friendship".

Both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are set to launch their own political parties and contest in the next Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

As he prepares to launch his state-wide tour as a precursor to his political launch from Rameswaram on Wednesday, Kamal has been calling on "people whom I like" and today's outing to Rajinikanth's residence was based on his belief.

"It is a courtesy call and not a political meet". The only thing Haasan has made clear so far is that he would ally with the BJP, as a few months back he had said that "Saffron is definitely not my colour". Stalin had demanded that the ruling AIADMK call an all-party meet to discuss the Cauvery water sharing issue. "I will pray to god that he will attain success", said the superstar. "In politics also, his style will be different from my style", he said.

When specifically asked if they were thinking about an alliance, Haasan said, "Only time will tell".
