Emphasising that Jan Sangh and BJP leaders have been at the forefront of all leading mass movements after Independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that "Ours is a party committed to Rashtra Bhakti". The foundation stone for the new building was laid in August past year by PM Modi and Amit Shah. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the party office building in the presence of the BJP veterans like L.K. Advani and M.M. Joshi, in addition to leaders such as Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, will also be present there. "This office isn't for the party's roadmap, it is for realising the hopes and dreams of the party workers. the soul of this office is the party worker". The parties were asked to move out of Luyten's Bungalow Zone.

The saffron party had been working from Ashoka Road for over 35 years while the Congress office is on Akbar Road. Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the party's brand new headquarters in August 2016.
