Montclair State University's online Master of Arts in Educational Leadership program has been ranked #21 in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report 2018 Best Online Graduate Education Programs survey.

The list slots Ball State at No. 16 in the nation for its online MBA program, 23 in online graduate nursing programs and 35 in online bachelor's programs.

Now in its seventh year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs list is a resource for students and working adults who are increasingly seeking online education programs for degree completion and career advancement.

The MSU College of Business' Distance MBA program remains one of the best in the country at No. 22 in U.S. News' Best Online MBA Program rankings, once again achieving the highest ranking of any online MBA program in Mississippi.

The methodology for assessing online programs included factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, peer reputation and admissions selectivity. "The top programs not only demonstrate strong academics but also create learning environments that are particularly well-suited to remote students".

Unlike other rankings of Online MBA programs, the US News ranking does not consider post-MBA salary as part of the ranking. Western's General Studies program is one of seven bachelor's degree programs in the US endorsed by the National Fire Academy (NFA). "I am delighted to share this recognition with my colleagues in the College of Nursing and College of Education and applaud the faculty and staff in the College of Business for developing and delivering top-notch graduate online business programs".
