Jackson describes Trump as "very sharp" and "very articulate when he speaks to me".

"I've found no reason whatsoever to think the President has any issues whatsoever with his thought processes", Jackson said.

Trump also said he impressed the medical staff during his physical examination.

President Donald Trump had hoped to spend the weekend celebrating the one-year anniversary of his inauguration amid friends at his opulent Palm Beach, Florida, estate.

He was said to be "fit for duty" for the rest of his term, and a second one should he be re-elected in 2020.

A White House doctor pronounced President Trump medically fit to serve as commander-in-chief on Tuesday - and added that he easily passed a voluntary cognitive assessment created to test his mental reflexes.

Trump had his first physical last Friday.

But yesterday, CNN medical pundit Dr. Sanjay Gupta-who has never examined Trump-claimed that Trump has heart disease.

"I have no concerns about his cognitive ability or neurological functions", Navy Rear Adm Dr Ronny Jackson told reporters at an extraordinary press conference at the White House yesterday after Trump's first physical examination as USA president.

Well, even though the US President's physician has given him a clean bill of health, people, it seems, are not buying it.

16, 2018 President Donald Trump is in excellent physical health and also shows no signs of age-related cognitive decline, according to a detailed briefing Tuesday following his annual check-up.

At 6-foot-3 and 239 pounds, the 71-year-old president had a blood pressure reading of 122/74 and a resting heart rate of 68 beats per minutes.

Trump is the oldest president ever elected and turns 72 in June.

Dr Jackson admitted that he would work with the President in the coming year to improve his diet and increase the amount of physical activity he does, although he said that he considers being on the golf course to be exercise.

Mr. Jackson held an extraordinary news conference at the White House that lasted for about an hour.

The conversation comes after White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson told reporters President Trump was in excellent health, but he could stand to lose a little weight, eat better and get more exercise.

"Trump did not receive a psychiatric exam, and therefore no one can rule out non-physiological mental-health issues (e.g., narcissistic personality disorder, paranoia)", she wrote. Questions about Trump's mental fitness have been raised following comments attributed to some of his close advisers in a new book, and his recent slurries.
