Oprah and Trump's long TV friendship would take center stage in 2020

The host of the Golden Globes, late-night comedian Seth Meyers, jokingly urged Winfrey to run in his opening monologue, noting that President Donald Trump had reportedly decided to make his bid for the office after he was the butt of Meyers' jokes at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2011.

"I really think you have it or you don't have it", Trump replied. "I do think she is intrigued, [but] that doesn't mean she is thinking about running", she tells ET.

"I think she'd get elected as president of the Screen Actors Guild if she wanted to run - but she will never be president of the United States. I know her very well", Trump said at the White House as he met with lawmakers to discuss immigration.

Winfrey's impassioned speech Sunday night at the Golden Globes sparked talk about whether she might follow in the footsteps of another wildly wealthy media star who jumped into politics by campaigning for the highest office in the land, Donald Trump.
