Chelsea struggled against the Canaries, for whom Alex Pritchard, Josh Murphy and James Maddison excelled going forwards.

"In the first half we had difficulty to attack but in the second half we created chances to score", he told reporters.

More fine play from Lewis allowed Murphy to tear through on goal in the 35th minute, beating Antonio Rudiger but getting his shot horribly wrong and firing across goal.

Here is how fans of the Canaries felt on their goalless draw.

We expect Conte to shuffle his pack during this congested period, and we could see the likes of David Luiz and Michy Batshuayi get some much craved game-time.

Tiemoue Bakayoko fired wide, Willian forced Angus Gunn to push his shot around the post and the Brazil star then shot straight at the keeper.

Pritchard saw a deflected shot loop over the bar just after the hour mark and Timm Klose headed the resulting Maddison corner wide after jumping too early.

Asked if the Spain striker has been an effective replacement for Diego Costa, who has now joined Atletico Madrid, Conte added: "The stats are that Morata scored 12 goals this season, seven assists".

Drinkwater stung Gunn's gloves in the 82nd minutes after a Zimmermann headed clearance dropped favourably 20 yards out, before Norwich threw on Nelson Oliveira and Yanic Wildschut to try and find a victor in the closing stages.

Chelsea have progressed from 20 of their last 21 FA Cup ties against non-Premier League sides, with the exception their 4-2 defeat to Bradford in January 2015.

However, neither side showed the cutting edge needed to win and both clubs will go into the hat for the fourth round draw on Monday. Unused subs: McGovern (GK), Husband, Vrancic, Watkins, Hoolahan.
