Nintendo Direct Mini Apparently Coming Today With Dark Souls Remastered Announcement

The clarification was reported by Game Informer, who said that Bandai Namco has confirmed there are now no plans to release the Dark Souls trilogy box set "in the Americas". The original Dark Souls was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2011.

On the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro the game will render at 1080P and supports resolution upscaling.

Why all the resolution talk? Today during a mini-Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed Dark Souls: Remastered coming to Nintendo Switch on May 25.

Hidden in the world of Dark Souls: Remastered are nine online covenants to uncover that will motivate your online interactions. This will give fans a chance to play one of their old favorites, but it's the people who never played a Dark Souls before that likely attracted Bandai Namco and other companies to the Switch. The inclusion of the Dark Souls franchise in the ever-growing catalogue of Switch games goes right along with Nintendo's decision to include more mature titles like Doom and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Dark Souls joins Skyrim and Doom as more hardcore offerings on Nintendo's new system. The user shared a pic where the date and the game were mentioned.

The hybrid handheld/home console is having a stellar first year. According to the pre-order page, Dark Souls Remastered is priced at $39.99 so PC gamers will be able to get it at $19.99. Let us know in the comments.
