She continued: "Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did. Please today stand up for every soul (that's mistreated)".

The actress took to Instagram to speak about her ordeal in response to the Time's Up movement which saw women wear black to the Golden Globes in solidarity with victims of sexual assault.

On Twitter, she elaborated, writing: "I never knew what was right or wrong growing up.I didn't know the person sneaking into my bed room at night was a bad person".

It is courageous of Thorne, who has vocally criticized slut-shaming in the past, to share her own story so she can raise awareness about others experiencing sexual and physical abuse.

It wasn't the first time the star had talked about abuse.

This is not the first time Bella has come out about her abuse, responding to a troll online earlier previous year who asked, 'What did Disney do to this girl?!

Bella explained in her Instagram posted I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14..when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it. All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantag

After Bella Thorne shared her story online, an outpouring of support came from her fans who took the courage to share their own personal stories of sexual abuse. In another tweet, she continued: "The world can be a sick place sometimes". While many said they were proud of Bella for sharing her story, Bella turned it back around, wondering about those who don't have as big of a platform as she does.

As she paused to wipe away her tears, Bella smiled down the camera lens and praised her fans for speaking out.

The 20-year-old actress revealed she had been molested as a child and that it was her earliest memory via a Instagram video where she tearfully thanked fans for their support.

Addressing her 16.9 million followers, the starlet said: "I'm on Twitter reading about all the people sharing their sexual abuse stories with me, from mine, and I just wanna say". It's such a... I'm really proud.

"Lemme tell you, I have insecurities about pretty much everything".
