Creighton's Marcus Foster named to Wooden Award Midseason List

The Wooden Award released its midseason top 25 list on Thursday, which included 17 upperclassmen, 15 backcourt players and representatives from nine conferences. Allen is also posting a 41.4 shooting percentage from the 3-point line.

The list, selected by college basketball experts, is made up of players who are considered primary candidates for the Wooden National Player of the Year award. He ranks in the top-10 of Oklahoma freshman season totals, including assists, three-pointers and points.

He boasts a season-high of 37 points against Sacramento State, has scored 30 or more points three times, and 20 or more in an impressive 11 games.

The 2017-18 Wooden Award will be handed out on April. 6 in Los Angeles. She earned Big Ten Player of the Week on November 13, December 4, Dec. 18, December 26, and January 2, and was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll on November 20, Nov. 27, December 11, and January 8.

But it's been more than a decade since a Blue Devils player won the John Wooden Award - the last one being J.J. Redick in 2005-06.

Oklahoma is the only school with multiple John R. Wooden Award winners over the past 14 seasons with Buddy Hield (2016) and Blake Griffin (2009) each earning the honor. The National Ballot consists of 15 top players who have proven to their universities that they are also making progress toward graduation and maintaining at least a cumulative 2.0 GPA. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for youth, and free for UI students.
