EA has announced that Apocalypse, the fourth DLC expansion coming to the WW1 shooter, launches in February for those who own the game's Premium Pass.

Once the quiet countryside of Belgium, now a nightmarish landscape of blood and mud. It includes five new brutal multiplayer maps inspired by "iconic, infamous battlefields of World War 1's final days". There's a new "Afflictions" Specialisation Type too. The Apocalypse DLC is set to bring 5 new maps, a variety of weapons and even a new game mode to the mix.

For the weapons and equipment, DICE has mentioned that there will be new melee weapons like a meat cleaver, and ahandy prybar. There's also an AA Rocket Gun for the Assault Class, a new stationary weapon called the Livens Projector that shoots poisonous gas projectiles and two bomber planes for the Caporetto map: the Hansa Brandenburg GI and the Airco DH10.

"Battlefield 1" Apocalypse adds Razor's Edge and London Calling as new air-only maps.

As with previous expansions, the major addition comes in the form of maps.

There are five new maps that will joining the rotation when the DLC drops next month, though it seems the other two are strictly for the new game air-based mode: knights of the skies.

There will also be new assignements to help you unlock weapons and specializations, new specializations which will let you increase the challenge and a bunch of new, completely irrelevant items to unlock (like medals and dog tags).

Apocalypse will arrive the first week of February for Premium Pass owners, and today, we have some gameplay footage for you as well as more information on the upcoming content. You can purchase the Premium Pass from the Microsoft Store for $49.99. The expansion, Battlefield 1 Apocalypse, is following up the game's latest expansion Turning Tides, which released in December 2017.
