Suicide Squad was viewed as a critical dud, but the film managed to do well at the box office, bringing in $745 million worldwide, easily securing not only a sequel, but various spin-off films, including multiple Harley Quinn projects for actress Margot Robbie.

While chatting with Metro, Robbie was asked about her experience working as a producer and how the process "made her appreciate the work put in by those in the same position in the DCEU".

"I've been working on it for two years now. I mean it's hard to kinda talk about it because all this stuff is under lock and key, but yeah I've been working on a separate spin-off for Harley for a while now".

Speaking about what she would want to do with Harley in the project, Robbie said: "I would like to see her with other women". You see it in the comics.

Margot revealed that her take on the story will give Harley the "girl gang" she needs.

Suicide Squad was packed to the brim with classic DC characters like Harley Quinn, The Joker (Jared Leto), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), and Deadshot (Will Smith). And when she was pressed on whether this is the same project as either Gotham City Sirens or the Harley/Joker movie, she was firm: "No". "There's a lot going on right now", she joked.

Robbie did get more specific when discussing what she wants to see in the film. No matter your opinion of Suicide Squad as a movie, Robbie's performance as the anarchic antihero is an undeniable high point.

Well, it might be that the solo Harley Quinn movie (which probably isn't a solo movie, and will probably still feature other notable DC characters) which had Christina Hodson attached as writer isn't dead after all. But you also can't be kind of paralyzed by the idea of 'How do we please everyone?' because it's just not going to happen. The latter still has Christina Hodson penning the script, and it seems like Robbie is still very much interested in bringing this team-up to the big screen.
