Reliance Jio offers cashback of Rs 1000 on REDMI 5A

Micromax has officially launched the Bharat 5 in India, pitching it as a competitor to the recently-unveiled Redmi 5A. And if you're one of them, it is likely to be confused between the two new phones. Bharat 5 with its 5.2-inch display with HD resolution scores higher than the Redmi 5A.

So, how do Micromax Bharat 5 and Xiaomi Redmi 5A stack up in terms of features and specifications?

Before it lost out to its Chinese competitors, Micromax was among the top smartphone manufacturers in the country. The latest entry to the list is Micromax Bharat 5 - the successor to the Bharat 4.

Xiaomi has partnered with Reliance Jio to give its customers the most out of Redmi 5A.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus might come in Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray and Silver color variants. It highlights a 5-megapixel rear camera with Bokeh Mode and a large 5000mAh battery, among other things. Redmi 5A will be a Flipkart Exclusive and will go on sale starting December 7. Overall the Micromax Bharat 5 is a good budget smartphone but sadly it pales in comparison with Xiaomi Redmi 5A which with its Rs. 4999 price tag and premium build quality, performance and cameras is a much better smartphone.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A draws its power from a 3,000mAh battery, which the company claims is good for eight days on standby. While the price of Redmi 5A is already quite lucrative, additional discount on Redmi 5A makes the effective price of Redmi 5A makes it available for people to grab at just Rs 3,999. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, Infrared, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). It sports a 5-inch HD screen with 720×1280 pixels and a pixel density of 296ppi. The 2GB+16GB "Desh Ka Smartphone", starts at Rs 4,999 for first 5 million buyers post which it will be available for Rs 5,999 while the Redmi 5A 3GB+32GB is priced at Rs 6,999.

Powering the handset is a 1.6GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM. A discount on the phone is now valid for the first five million units.
