Phoenix-area Pizza Hut customers will be able to order six-packs of Shocktop, Bud Light, Budweiser and a local Arizona-based craft brew, Kilt Lifter, which will all cost a flat rate of $10.99.

"We know that beer and wine go great with pizza and we're uniquely positioned to deliver these given many of our restaurants already serve beer and wine", Stacy Lynn Bourgeois, the director of brand marketing for Pizza Hut, said in a press release.

More than 1,700 Pizza Hut restaurants, more than a quarter of total US units, already have liquor licenses, the company said. But I think I can speak for everyone who has ever ordered a stuffed crust pizza when I say that no-one who orders a stuffed crust pizza only wants a single serving of Pinot Grigio, OK!? The company will add wine soon, but has yet to decide if it will deliver bottles or glasses.

On Tuesday the pizza chain announced plans to start testing beer and wine deliveries in certain cities. Brand has seen its stock soar this year, increasing by 32% since January 1.

Pizza Hut now sells wine and beer at many in-store locations. By the end of the year, the company expects to hire 14,000 new drivers. Its biggest competitors Dominos and Papa John's will only delivery soft drinks and bottled water shows each of their websites. Drivers will check customers' IDs to verify that they are over 21 and deliver the cold beer kept in a cooler.

While beer and wine delivery pilot is beginning with just one downtown Phoenix location. However, Pizza Hut had not performed as while as sister chains KFC and Taco Bell, which has spurred this attempt of a turnaround by the company.
