Patriots must monitor Tom Brady's lack of arm strength after Dolphins loss

The former University of Alabama standout and third-round pick led Miami in both rushing and receiving versus the Patriots - totaling 114 yards on the ground while catching five passes from quarterback Jay Cutler for 79 yards in the Dolphins' 27-20 victory at Hard Rock Stadium.

Brady's arm strength was lacking. The only exception to that run of Dolphins' success came previous year. However, had they won on Monday and entered Week 15 with a matching 11-2 record, a win would have given them a full-game lead in the conference plus the tiebreaker.

Miami Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry thought it was relevant to celebrate his touchdown against the New England Patriots with a reference to Deflategate, a ball deflating scandal from the AFC championship after the 2014 season.

There is no arguing that fact, at least from New England's perspective.

The Patriots visit AFC North champion Pittsburgh on Sunday in a possible playoff preview.

New England did not convert a third down, finishing 0-for-11, marking the first time that's happened in almost 30 years.

Phillips' comment Tuesday was accompanied by a video of the play on which he injured his left leg in Monday night's Miami victory.

"It was a bad night", Brady said.

He was the best player on the field on Monday night. On the second, Cooks had a step but Brady's ball was underthrown just enough for Howard to make an impressive recovery. Nikola Mirotic got into a fight at practice with Bobby Portis and had to miss more than 20 games as a result.

Brady came into the game with only four interceptions all season.

This was a big game for a Bulls player who had missed games with his own facial fractures, but not from an inadvertent teammate's elbow, but rather intentional blows with a teammate. But a loss of velocity is certainly worth keeping an eye on moving forward for New England.
