Netflix has unveiled the first look at its upcoming cyberpunk show Altered Carbon.

Watch the full trailer below and tell us what you think. Production started up for this series earlier this year, and since that time there's been plenty of hype - but also plenty of mystery. They need something futuristic, thought-provoking, and with great characters and interesting moral dilemmas.

Altered Carbon will follow Takeshi Kovacs, a mercenary who becomes a revolutionary.

Based on the award-winning novel, Altered Carbon takes place in a future where the human mind can now be digitized and downloaded into a "cortical stack" and placed into new bodies, called sleeves.

The show centers on Enovy soldier (who are elite interstellar warriors) Takeshi Kovacs, played by Joel Kinnaman from House Of Cards. Kovacs has his unconsciousness imprisoned and, when he's awakened in a new body hundreds of years later, learns a wealthy businessman, Laurens Bancroft, has freed him with the intention that Kovacs would help Bancroft solve a crime.

Police deemed it a suicide, however Bancroft is convinced he was murdered and enlists Kovacs to find out the truth.

First ordered to series in January 2016, Netflix's new series (premiering in February) is based on the 2002 Richard K. Morgan novel of the same name, packed with a premise modern audiences might see as Westworld meets Blade Runner. View the Altered Carbon teaser below, along with new photos in the gallery, and check out the show when it launches Friday, February 2 on Netflix! Besides Kinnaman, the cast includes James Purefoy (The Following), Martha Higareda (Royal Pains, McFarland, USA), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton), Will Yun Lee (The Wolverine, True Blood), Dichen Lachman (Agents of Shield, Shameless).
