Netflix confirmed the second season on social-media earlier today, but kept quiet about a release window.

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who watched the show because it was arguably the best of the previous five Marvel shows and because of how the show left viewers with that finale that left us begging for more.

Shortly after its first season became available on the streaming service, Netflix has announced a second season for the comic book adaptation "The Punisher". To my knowledge that's only happened with Girlboss and Gypsy.

Marvel's flawless renewal record at Netflix continues, with the Internet network just announcing a Season 2 pickup forThe Punisher. The show was so powerful and so well-received by fans and critics. It revolves around Frank Castle (The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal), who "after exacting revenge for those responsible for the death of his wife and children. uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York's criminal underworld". And I'm excited there will be more in the near future.

It's unclear where the next season of the series will take Castle, as the first season had a storyline that was only loosely inspired by the comics.

Season one of "Marvel's The Punisher" was executive produced by showrunner Steve Lightfoot ("Hannibal"), Jim Chory ("Marvel's Daredevil", "Marvel's Jessica Jones", "Marvel's Luke Cage") and Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of TV.

In other words, it'll be about two years from the season 1 premiere until season 2 hits.

We're still waiting for an official Stranger Things season 3 launch date, but a recent interview with show star David Harbour revealed that we may not get the third season until 2019.
