Jak and Daxter PS2 Classics includes Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, Jak 3, and Jak X: Combat Racing, which will be available on PS4 via download on the PS Store later this year.

If you missed out on the rest of the Jak and Daxter universe beyond the first game, you'll have a chance to experience them as PlayStation 4 releases next week.

Truant Pixel with help from PlayStation US, Japan and even Naughty Dog built this PS4 dynamic theme, combining "multiple disparate elements into a single piece of theme software which mimics the sights, sounds, and functionality of the Playstation 2 Dashboard".

On the official PlayStation blog, Sony revealed that Jak II, Jak 3, and Jak X: Combat Racing will be released to the PlayStation Store on December 6.

Just like any other titles coming to the PS4 from the PS2, all three of the Jak and Daxter titles will feature snazzy 1080p graphics, as well as PSN trophies, and Share Play and Remote Play capabilities. However, the online multiplayer that was originally present in Jak X: Combat Racing won't be operational on the PS4. Naughty Dog would go on to create the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises. Now, better than ever, the PS2 bootup is coming to the PlayStation 4 in the form of a theme. If you're familiar with Jak and Daxter in general, the Jak games are a little different, a little "darker", but decent platformers and worth trying out.
