Google's Datally application got you covered.

Google has recently launched a mobile app that can help with managing mobile data.

The Manage Data section shows the break-up of data spent in the last one hour, day, week or month. Google has released an app of its own which can help curb the extra costs that could be incurred due to this.

The key point here is that while these settings are hidden behind their fair share of menus and submenus, Datally brings all these to the front and presents them to you in a very simple manner: to save data or not to save data.

"With my limited allowance, I am conscious about saving money including expenses on cellphone load". The app also generates customized recommendations including the ability to activate reminders to save data.

Google tested Datally earlier this year in the Philippines with a half-million users, finding they cut mobile data use by about 30 percent, according to Woodward. The app will also block data usage of apps.

"Datally shows you how much data you have used on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and alerts you when apps consume a lot of data". Apart from that, you can also see other apps that are using data as well.

In case you are approaching the mobile data cap allowed under your plan, and want to switch to a WiFi network, the app can assist by finding public Wi-Fi hotspots in the vicinity.

Unless the exclusive goal of the app is that of a lockscreen, apps may not introduce ads or features that monetize the locked display of a device. That's why we built Datally, an app that helps you understand, control and save data.

Advertisements have become the norm when you look at the lock screen of your smartphone.

Apps frequently use data in the background for updating content and information. Many times, you might not know this this is happening. For the latter scenario, the app provides for a single button hitting which will let you channelize your data on only the active app. You will be prompted to enable connection request by blocking data using VPN. You can view how other Datally users have rated the Wi-Fi network and also possible to rate Wi-Fi networks that you have connected to. If you see a public Wi-Fi spot, you can select it and it will give you directions via Google Maps.
