The total number of field employees from the Northwoods is seven. This includes the resources already working on the island from PREPA's own crews, a contingent of crews from NY who are working as part of an intergovernmental agreement, and crews mobilized under USACE contracts.

The crew was sent to Virginia Tuesday, where they'll be loaded onto a barge and transported to the US territory. "While the logistics of responding to this type of restoration are complex, we are eager to respond to the call for aid from those in need".

Starting in January, Duke Energy will send more than 200 employees to Puerto Rico along with trucks, equipment and supplies to try and rebuild the power grid and restore electricity to areas hit hard by Hurricane Maria.

"Our mission is to help improve lives and today Puerto Rico needs our help", Kable said.

Dominion Energy personnel anticipate assisting in Puerto Rico for a minimum of a month.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association that represents all US investor-owned electric companies.

Oklahoma Gas and Electric is also sending almost 50 trucks and about 50 crew members. As a whole, the electric power industry supports more than 7 million jobs in communities across the United States. Dominion's David Botkins says up until now, transportation infrastructure on the island territory was too ravaged to be able to get help there and around the island.
