CSKA Moscow and Qarabag out of UEFA Champions League

Manchester United came from behind to beat CSKA Moscow and top their Champions League group as Jose Mourinho's men took their unbeaten home run to a club record-equalling 40th match.

Manchester City went through as Group F winners despite their 2-1 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk, while Tottenham are also through in first place having wrapped up their group campaign with a 3-0 win over APOEL Nicosia.

It is the first time in the history of the Champions League that a country has had five teams in the last-16 stage of the competition. The Blues also can't play another English team in the Round of 16.

It was a busy night of European football as a host of teams played their final Champions League group stage fixture.

In Group B, Paris Saint-German had all but secured top spot, with Munich needing to win by four goals to leapfrog them.

"After the performance [against Atletico], I think we deserved to win [the group], but we were not able to do it and now we have to be focused on the draw and who we play", he continued.

Antonio Conte's side, who could be pitted against heavyweights including Barcelona and PSG in next week's last 16 draw.

Tuesday night saw a number of Champions League games take place, with British clubs experiencing mixed results on the night.

Celtic secured the Europa League spot in the group despite losing 1-0 at home to Anderlecht, on a Jozo Simunovic own goal.

That leaves only Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Besiktas as Chelsea's options.

3 - Qarabag has had a player sent off in each of its last three Champions League games, a feat only previously managed by Bordeaux (2000) and Juventus (2001).

Liverpool: Basel (20), Bayern Munich (4), Juventus (5), Shakhtar Donetsk (16), Porto (12) or Real Madrid (1). The first legs will be played on 13, 14, 20 and 21 February, and the second legs will be played on 6, 7, 13 and 14 March 2018.

Premier League giants Manchester United and Italians Juventus were among the sides to advance to the knockout round of the Champions League Tuesday following victories on the final matchday while Atletico Madrid were eliminated after being held at Chelsea.
