' Black Mirror ': Release date and advances of its fourth season

Following a series of trailers for each of the six episodes that gradually rolled out over the past week, Netflix revealed on Wednesday that the fourth season of Black Mirror will arrive on the streaming service on December 29th.

Netflix has, at last, revealed the Emmy-winning anthology drama's return date: December 29.

The series, which won 2017 Emmy Awards for television movie and television movie writing (for the Season 3 installment "San Junipero"), returns with six new episodes just in time to be eligible for the winter awards cycle.

Meanwhile, The Independent recently sat down with creator, showrunner, and writer Charlie Brooker to discuss the upcoming episodes. Episodes are stand-alone but tend to be set in an alternate reality or in the near future.

A trailer for the full season has now dropped, showing fans what they can expect when the new episodes are released. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm - a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone - a Black Mirror reflection.

The show has gradually rolled out a number of teasers over the past week, culminating in an official release date which is being pegged as Black Friday.
