BBC launches voice control for smart speakers

BBC News briefings are available for Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant and BBC Research & Development recently launched an experimental interactive drama, The Inspection Chamber, on Echo and Alexa that will come to other smart speakers in future.

All Alexa users can take advantage of this feature. Other streaming services supported by the Amazon Echo can also be chosen, including Spotify, Pandora, Sirius XM, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio. In addition, it pushes the cute and circular Amazon Echo Spot, which will be launched on December 19, as the alarm clock of the future.

Amazon Music Unlimited, Amazon's full-catalogue streaming service, announced its expansion into 28 additional countries, offering a catalogue of more than 40 million songs and thousands of playlists and personalised stations, hand-curated by Amazon Music experts, to millions of more listeners around the globe. You can also choose mood music to begin your day the way you want. For example, a user can say "Alexa, set an alarm for 7:00 a.m. and play "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran".

The music alarm can also be set up as a recurring one by adding terms such as "every weekday" to the voice command.

Since first launching in the United States in October of 2016, Amazon Music Unlimited has expanded to the UK, Germany, Austria, Japan and more, transforming music streaming with the ability to just ask Alexa to play music by voice and creating the most natural listening environment for millions of subscribers.

The feature has not been rolled out in all regions and devices yet.

Shipping is free if you have Amazon Prime or on orders over $25. This means that there are surely now even more households and rooms with an Amazon Echo.

Apparel designers Brooks Brothers jumped at the chance to incorporate Amazon's new service for Alexa called Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help manage the various smaller details going on during the company's meetings.
