A new innings for King Kohli: Virat and Anushka officially married!

This attractive day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well wishers. The wedding was performed as per Hindu rituals. Anushka and Virat issued a joint statement announcing their wedding on Twitter.

The wedding reception will take place in the Darbar Hall, of Taj Diplomatic Enclave in Delhi, on 21st December, which will be followed by another reception in Mumbai on 26th December.

We wish Virat and Anushka all the best as they start a new chapter in their lives!

The newlyweds will travel to South Africa, where Kohli will start prepping for the upcoming series and his wife will spend New Year's Eve with him and return in the first week of January to begin the next schedule of Aanand L Rai's film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai. The couple had a Punjabi-style wedding. Since then, the rumours of their impending wedding had been rife. The former was spotted at the airport with her family and a pandit which added fuel to the on-going speculations. Anushka will also be busy with the marketing and promotions of "Pari" which is releasing on 9th February.

Kohli has smashed numerous records throughout his illustrious career and recently became the first batsman to score six double Test centuries as a captain. She won a national Filmfare Award for her role in Jab Tak Hai Jaan (As Long as I Live).

Since Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma wanted to keep the wedding a top secret - miles away from the glare of media -the ceremony was attended mostly by the couple's family members and friends in Italy.

India has always grandly celebrated the union of cricket and Bollywood.
