The National Caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) met last night at the new Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja.

"Did I tell you that?"

Buhari also commended leaders of the party for helping to keep the government running smoothly during his medical trip overseas.

"You know me. I'm not known to shy away from talking my mind and rebelling if it is necessary, and taking charge of things that I believe are necessary".

The president welcomed Tinubu after hosting some top members of the ruling party.

"We are the party of the people for the people and by the people and this is democratic environment". I don't believe in the myth, I believe in confidence building, the trust that we have in the president.

"Our role is to make this party great and we are all trying to do that; but importantly, the governors have remained the pivot upon which this wheel of change has rotated so far".

The two meetings came ahead of a third one scheduled to hold between Buhari and the national caucus of the party.

Present at the meeting is the President, Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, National Chairman of the Party, Mr John Oyegun, while the leadership of the National Assembly and other party chieftains are also expected.

Governors in attendance were the chairman of APC Governors' Forum, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Yahaya Bello of Kogi who was the first to arrive at about 7:30pm, Sokoto -Aminu Tambuwal, Niger - Sani Bello, Nasarawa - Tanko Al-Makura, Bauchi -Mohammed Abubakar, Adamawa - Bindo Jibrila, Plateau - Simon Lalong, Benue - Samuel Ortom, Katsina - Aminu Maisari, Zamfari - Abdulaziz Yari and Jigawa - Abubakar Badaru.

President Alassane Ouattara of Cote D'Ivoire has said President Muhammadu Buhari's recovery from illness is important to West Africa and the entire African continent.
