But this game focuses on a totally new aspect of casting main characters, as said by the Sega in a press release. There's a bit of commentary from the developer at the beginning and the actual trailer starts about two minutes in: Valkyria Chronicles 4 will come to Xbox One in 2018. The beloved Valkyria Chronicles series makes its grand return westward in 2018 with Valkyria Chronicles 4, a new mainline chapter in the saga for PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, and Xbox One™. It follows new characters Claude Wallace and Riley Miller, soldiers in the Edinburgh Army who are assigned to Operation: Northern Cross, a desperate offensive created to capture the heavily-fortified Imperial capital in order to bring an end to the war. "Together, they will experience the painful realities of war-but will the bonds of Squad E's friendships survive the frozen battlefield?"

The renowned BLitZ system is back and is better than ever, giving players the most robust turn-based strategy and real-time shooter mix to date.

Though Sega did not reveal much in the way of gameplay, we will likely see more news and footage from Valkyria Chronicles 4 in the coming weeks.

Fans of the series will also appreciate that series composer Hitoshi Sakimoto is also returning to score Valkyria Chronicles 4.

While a disappointing spinoff of the tactical RPG series released last year, Valkyria Chronicles 4 comes seven years after the third installment in the franchise. SEGA will release Valkyria Chronicles 4 in North America and Europe simultaneously in 2018.
