CNN hit back at Donald Trump after the president of the United States stated that the news network insufficiently represents the United States.

He did the same on Sunday, when he alleged CNN global of not correctly portraying news of USA to the world.

"They (CNN International) represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly".

Since Trump's inauguration, CNN has taken a more hostile tone towards the president and many of his staff. "Our job is to report the news". However, examples of the pro-Trump website's work can still be seen on its Twitter account.

Several of CNN's top journalists also entered the fray.

Donald Trump can't stop getting dunked on by news organizations.

CNN worldwide was prompt in replying back.

In a tweet responding to Trump's latest criticisms of CNN International, the network's communications department wrote, "It's not CNN's job to represent the U.S to the world". Their reporting prompted the United Nations to open an investigation into the matter.

According to the reports, Trump's remarks come at a significant time for the media outlet, whose parent company Time Warner is merging with AT&T in an $85 billion deal.

As former FBI Director James Comey reminds us, freedom of the press has always been an important part of American democracy.

Later on, media critic David Zurawik said that Avlon was "absolutely right" and that the president would just prefer to go to his "Twitter pals" at Fox News like "Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham".
