Pyongyang has vehemently refused to relinquish its pursuit of a nuclear weapon capable of reaching the mainland USA, which has led Trump to issue bombastic threats toward the regime.

But in its retort yesterday, North Korea said Mr Trump's warnings "can never frighten us or put a stop to our advance", but rather "pushes us to speed up the efforts to accomplish the great cause of completing the state nuclear force". This marked the first time three ships of this size have sailed together in the region in a decade.

The three flattops are the USS Ronald Reagan, Nimitz and Theodore Roosevelt.

"Multiple carrier strike force operations are very complex, and this exercise in the Western Pacific is a strong testament to the US Pacific Fleet's unique ability and ironclad commitment to the continued security and stability of the region", Adm. Scott Swift, the commander of the US Pacific Fleet, said in a statement.

Tensions between North Korea and the U.S. have escalated in recent months following the rogue state's sixth nuclear bomb test on September 3, which earned more sanctions and condemnations from the UN.

President Trump is now in the Philippines for the ASEAN Summit, the last leg of his Asia tour.

"The weapons you are acquiring are not making you safer", Trump added.

USA president Donald Trump has insisted that by calling him old, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had insulted him, adding that he would never stoop to the same level by calling Kim "short and fat".

"They are putting your regime in grave danger". The statement was issued in response to a speech delivered by Trump in South Korea's National Assembly on Tuesday, where he stressed that the U.S. should not be underestimated, and that North Korea's new weapons might be putting the regime in more, rather than less danger.

But Pyongyang doesn't seem interested in negotating.

Trump also tweeted about what he said were the failures of the previous administration to improve relations with Russian Federation.

The Asian giant is keeping the economically unstable nation financially afloat, and Trump has claimed China "can fix this problem easily - and quickly" by using its influence over the hermit state.
