- As noted, Sin Cara took to Twitter on Monday to confirm that he suffered an ankle injury during the Triple Threat with Sami Zayn and WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin at Sunday's live event in Spain.

The following matches were taped earlier today in Manchester, England for tonight's WWE Smackdown television show. Styles will now move on to face Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series in a "champion versus champion" match.

There's still plenty of time for him to win the title back, of course, but as of right now, the champion is The Phenomenal One.

Mahal won the title on May 21, defeating Randy Orton and has continued his title reign for longer than most expected. He defeated Dean Ambrose for the championship at Money in the Bank previous year. Unfortunately, this puts WWE in the position of having to choose which of their top champions wins. The matches comes with the stipulation that if Charlotte wins, she will go on to face Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series.

Find out how it all went down and how it affects the battle for brand supremacy at Survivor Series by tuning into SmackDown LIVE tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network.
