20th Century Fox is reportedly developing a film that will star X-Men franchise character Jamie Madrox/Multiple Man.

The movie, as-yet-untitled, is being written by Allan Heinberg, who previously wrote the script for this summer's Wonder Woman, and will be produced by longtime X-Men producer Simon Kinberg. Josh Boone's The New Mutants is next on the list of X-Men releases, followed by Deadpool 2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and a Gambit movie.

James Franco may star as Multiple Man in a new Marvel film from Fox.

We here at Comicbook.com recently explored great X-Men characters for TV and Movie Adaptation, and singled out Madrox / Multiple Man as one of them. With the help of X-Men leader Professor Xavier and the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards, Madrox was able to more reliably control his self-cloning powers.

If Franco signs on to the movie, it will serve as a reunion for him and Kinberg, who he is also working with on The Hardy Men.

According to the Hollywood Reporter James will be playing the mutant Multiple Man.

Luckily, thanks to the wildly complicated timeline of the X-Men films, it would be pretty easy to act like Dane's version of the character never happened.

It's not hard to see why an "artist's artist" like Franco would fine that kind of character appealing, with the ability to stack multiple performances at once. Though his parents refuse the offer, they are later killed in a tornado believed to have been caused by Tryp and Jamie begins to run the farm with his duplicates until his suit is eventually damaged.
