"Harry Potter" Version of Pokémon Go Debuts

The movies will join the Potter prequel that Warner Bros.

But Niantic may be mindful that many of Pokemon Go's remaining fans play it with its AR features switched off because it makes the game easier to play and helps save battery life.

Much like Pokemon Go, the game will use augmented reality to turn the world around us into the world of Harry, Hermione, the bloke from Cracker and the rest of the gang.

"Almost five years ago Niantic launched Ingress, our first augmented reality mobile game, turning real-world streets, neighborhoods and cities into a global game board, and bringing people together in a shared digital reality", the press release stated.

Hold the phone! No literally, that's how the new game from Pokemon Go makers will let users explore the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

There are certain movies that deserve to be watched over and over again, and the entire Harry Potter series falls into this category beautifully.

To note, a similar AR gaming app based on the "Harry Potter" novels was already developed.

Relatively few details have been provided at this point about the forthcoming game, except that it will involve players learning spells before exploring their neighbourhoods to search for mysterious artefacts and fight "legendary beasts" with the option to team up with others to "take down powerful enemies". Whatever the mechanics of the game, with the Harry Potter franchise extremely large fanbase, it's safe to say there will be a lot of interest in this game.
