The cast of "Stranger Things" (Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp) performs in a sketch with James Corden during "The Late Late Show".

Stranger Things' fans also pointed out that if a 27-year-old man had made the comments about a 14-year-old girl then it would have been considered more controversial, with Ali eventually deleting the post and apologising in a lengthy statement.

"Hey everybody! I don't wanna ex-communicate anyone from this fandom, but if you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers. So, I called up the boys, and I said, 'Let's get the band back together for one more night, '" added Wolfhard. "Think b4 ya type boiiii".

Do the kids from Stranger Things not need to sleep every night like regular kids or like, what's the deal there?

Wolfhard's co-stars, including actress Shannon Purser, have come forward to defend him after the backlash, as did "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner.

The teenager continued, "Y'all know who you are".

Corden has perfected the format of showcasing celebrities in ways that fans have never see them before, and this collaboration with the cast of one of Netflix's most phenomenal shows appears to be right on time with audiences of every age.

Wolfhard was harassed on Twitter after he didn't stop to say hi to a Stranger Things fan and the incident was caught on a viral video.

Former child star Mara Wilson also took to social media to hit out at the treatment of the cast - specifically 13-year-old Millie Bobby-Brown.
