The company announced its women's featherweight titleholder will fight former bantamweight champion Holly Holm at UFC 219 on December 30 in Las Vegas.

The Brazilian star is now unbeaten in her past 19 fights and is widely considered to be the most feared woman in all of mixed martial arts, which has meant that at times she's struggled to find suitable opponents. That fight also ended with fireworks and drew 1,109,000 viewers, making it the most-watched FOX Fight Night or TUF finals show ever headlined by a women's fight.

We are six weeks out from the UFC's big end-of-year card and a fitting title fight has finally been booked.

A former world boxing champion, Holm (11-3) signed for the UFC in 2015 and caused a major upset that November by dethroning the previously undefeated bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey by second-round knockout. In February, Holm was matched up against Germaine de Randamie to determine the UFC's first, women's featherweight champ, and the latter won the belt via decision (de Randamie was eventually stripped of the title). Holm fought one month earlier, and knocked out Bethe Correia.
