That is now known because College Football Playoff officials said Wednesday that their management committee has booked sites for the championship games through the 2023 season. This marks the first time in college football that a championship game is not played in the South or West. Volunteers coach Butch Jones didn't specify the nature of the injury that knocked Kendrick out of the Kentucky game.

Indiana Sports Corp and Visit Indy, initiatives that help promote the city, announced that they had been awarded the championship by the College Football Playoff.

This year's national title game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. "This was truly a team effort, and we could not have secured this bid without the support of Harris County, the City of Houston, NRG Stadium and Houston First". He also said that "the new stadium will be spectacular".

College Football Playoff made a surprise call inviting the city to host the 2022 game and four days of events and festivities.

"When we created the playoff, we said we wanted to move the national championship game around", Hancock said in a release. The new state-of-the-art stadium being constructed for the Rams and Chargers was the major draw in Los Angeles. No city has hosted the championship game a few times.

The game will be played one year after the stadium will host the NFL's Super Bowl for what will be a record setting 11th time. But after the January 8 event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the game won't return here for at least the following six seasons.

"We are thrilled to be able to bring the national championship game back to this area", said Don Slesnick, president and chair of the Orange Bowl Committee. "Also, the community provides a state-of-the-art stadium, top-flight convention center and a centralized, "walkable" downtown that our fans will love".

Indianapolis is set to host college football's biggest event.
