The average cost of the cheapest matchday ticket, however, has increased slightly from 29.05 pounds to 29.30 pounds.

The west Londoners' lowest-priced season ticket of £400 is the fourth highest in the Championship, with Birmingham City the best value at £230, while Norwich City have the most expensive at £500.

Peter Watton at OddsMonkey said: "Man City might now be at the top of the table when it comes to the most points this season but Burnley sit at the top for their cheapest pie and pint price".

However, young fans still feel put off by prices with a separate poll of 18 to 24-year-olds finding that four out of five of them (82%) still felt the cost of tickets were an obstacle for them going to more games.

OddsMonkey have analysed the data from the BBC and used their own research to find out who tops the Premier League table for the cheapest pie and pint.

The BBC surveyed all clubs from the top five men's leagues in England, the top four Scottish leagues, the premier divisions in Northern Ireland and Wales, and the two Women's Super Leagues.

The BBC Price of Football report found 55% of young fans said they had stopped going to matches completely or attended fewer games because it was too expensive, despite 135 clubs offering reduced prices for teenagers and young adults, not taking into account student concessions.
