It's easy to look at Denver's 41-16 implosion against New England and ask if the team's playoff-worthy defense is a thing of the past.

It was the special teams that let the Broncos down Sunday.

Jospeh acknowledged Sunday that he couldn't recall an National Football League game with so many special-teams struggles, but he isn't about to blow the machine up after one error-filled outing. In years past, the Denver Broncos have given Brady and the Patriots fits, especially at home, but tonight the New England offense was too much to overcome. "It's hard to play this team when you're behind and they can just tee off on the (pass) rushes".

Minutes later, New England's Dion Lewis returned a kick 103 yards for the score, putting the Patriots up 14-3. Burkhead became the first player since 1977 to catch a touchdown pass and block a punt in the same game. Stephen Gostkowski would nail a 28-yard field goal five plays later, giving New England a 20-6 lead and points off of every standout play from its special teams. Joseph talked about why he left his rookie in after the muffed punt in the first quarter.

Denver D gets an F - Who had the Patriots setting a season-high for points scored in Denver, of all places?

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders #10 of the Denver Broncos runs for yards after a catch in the first quarter of a game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on November 12, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. It took the Patriots a mere seven plays to respond with their own 75-yard score, capped by a Lewis scamper into the end zone taken on a hurry-up play that took advantage of Denver's tepid preparation to get set.

Denver dropped its previous contest 51-23 to the Philadelphia Eagles, and all six losses this season have come by double digits.

Even Denver's resident optimist, linebacker Von Miller, was at a loss as he tried to sift through the pieces Sunday night. But we all saw that coming, right?
